BRUNEI, 27 August 2026The Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) 2026 award ceremony was held on Thursday, 27 August 2026 at the Plenary Hall, International Convention Centre, Berakas. Co-organized by the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications (MTIC), the Authority for Infocommunications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) and Infocom Federation Brunei (IFB), BICTA serves as a local qualifying platform for winners to represent Brunei Darussalam at the international Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards.

EVYD Technology supports BICTA 2026 and served as sponsor and judge in a panel of experts from multi-sector committee of local and international ICT industry players in its annual national competition designed to stimulate innovation and creativity in Brunei’s ICT sector amongst students, individuals, businesses and government entitles.

Our participation

EVYD Technology’s sponsorship of BICTA 2026 forms part of our engagement with Brunei’s technology sector, alongside our work with government and institutional partners in-country.

EVYD Head of Solutions and Business Development Alvin Li’s appointment to the judging panel reflects our company’s operational experience in building and running technology systems at national scale in Brunei – the perspective of an organization that has taken systems from specification through to deployment, regulatory approval, and long-term operation.

Why we support BICTA

Brunei’s technology sector is small enough that its overall capability is difficult to see from any single vantage point. National innovation and talent development programs such as BICTA are one of the few mechanisms that make that capability legible – they act as catalysts to cultivate future tech workforce, accelerate adoption of automation and digitalization, and transforming theoretical prototypes into viable, market-ready technology, allowing for government buyers to assess what can be sourced domestically, companies to decide what they can build locally rather than import, and the industry to measure itself against a recognized standard.

That standard matters to us directly. Having built and operated AI systems at national scale, EVYD understands the dependency of local talents and expertise for its successes and recognizes how programs like BICTA set the standard of how innovation and technology are built. Capability of that kind is not a given in a market of this size; it has been built deliberately over the years, and programs like BICTA are part of how we can sustain the future.
